THE crew of a game fishing charter boat off Costa Rica had an encounter this week with a rare large albino blue marlin.
According to Pete Thomas Outdoors, the catch of the rare albino blue marlin was made aboard Spanish Fly, a 43-foot yacht that runs from Maverick Sportfishing out of Los Suenos, on the Central American country’s Pacific side.
The marlin was caught by client Karen Weaver from New York who reeled the billfish to leader after an hour-long fight, after which it was carefully released.
