Rock fishing alert for long weekend

THE Bureau of Meteorology has issued a coastal waters warning for the majority of the NSW coast for Friday and the start of the long weekend.

A predicted large southerly swell will affect the coast on Friday and Saturday with seas of 3 to 4 metres on top of a south-easterly swell of up to 4 metres. Large swells are expected to break dangerously close inshore.

Rock fishers should be aware that the winter pattern of westerly winds can deceptively make ocean conditions look safe for fishing.

Check conditions on your part of the coast by viewing the Bureau’s coastal weather forecasts  HERE before heading out.
