THE Shoalhaven fishing and wider community yesterday said goodbye to passionate fisho and dedicated police officer, Chief Inspector Steven “Jonno” Johnson.
Jonno was highly regarded on the NSW South Coast for his tireless work in community projects and charity events. His love of fishing was strong, and this passion was a driving force behind community initiatives such as the Cops and Koori Kids Fishing Workshop, plus many other fishing and non-fishing related charity events.
A few days after the shock news of Steve Johnson’s death, Nick Rheinberger of ABC Illawarra sat down on the banks of the Shoalhaven River with Steve’s fishing mate and colleague Mark Fisher, to hear more about a man who never stopped giving to his friends, family and his community.
