TACKLE giant Shimano is the major sponsor of a Fishing Expo being held on the NSW south coast next month.
The free non-profit event is set down for 5pm Friday night October 12 and from 10am – 4pm Saturday October 13 at the grounds and the main auditorium of the Nowra City Church, 167 McMahons Rd North Nowra. The main auditorium holds 800 people but organisers are asking people to get there early to ensure they have a seat.
The Friday night will feature guest speakers Bushy, Brett Wilson, Chris Cleaver, Ian Miller and one of the south coast’s top fishing guides Stuie Hindson talking about fishing and a host of Shimano products from the new 2013 range.
There will be some great food on offer on the Friday night, as well known local fishing identity and chef Wes Murphy will be there with his mobile Wandering Pizza Wood Fire Oven, as will Steve Fischer and his Dash’s coffee truck, plus a drink machine in the café area of the church.
On Saturday there will be a sausage sizzle and Dash’s Coffee truck will be there again
There will also be casting competitions, fishing classes for kids and adults with prizes and give-a ways throughout the day. Note: Kids must register before the day either at McCallums, Dave Hill Marine or via email at fishingexpo@tpg.com.au.
The Shimano Reef Tank with live fish will be on display at the show as well as Gav McCallum’s Fish Fighting Simulator – fight anything from a bream to a marlin!
