Following on from Fisho’s reports late last year on proposed closures to popular fishing sites at South West Rocks in Northern NSW – Fish Rock and Green Island – the issue is no closer to being resolved. And with the Kenneally Government closing Parliament early last month, finalising the issue in the lead up to the NSW state election in March appears no closer.
In light of this uncertainty, the Community Action for Fish Rock group is convening a public meeting/information session at South West Rocks Country Club auditorium this Friday January 14 at 1:30pm.
According to CAFR spokesman Chris Wallis, representatives of political parties who have confirmed their attendance for the meeting include NSW National Party leader and local member Andrew Stoner; Duncan Gay, Shadow Minister for Industry and Investment; Shooters and Fishers Party leader Robert Brown and Jeremy Bradley, Greens candidate for Oxley.
Invitations have been extended to all political parties as well as other speakers who will be on hand to provide more details of the proposed closures and the potential impacts.
The information session will be alcohol free.
