ACCORDING to Queensland-based Fishing World writer Kris Sweres, the squid are well and truly on the chew in Moreton bay!
Kris flicked us a brief email today to say a cold change has stirred the Bay’s squid up again for the season. He also reckons Yamashita squid jigs in natural colours have been the lures of choice.
According to Sweres, most of the squidding action has been coming from around the outer bay islands in the cooler, clear water (around 6-8 ft mark). He says he has also managed to jig up a few cuttlefish along with the tasty squid.
“Looking forward to dropping a few of these suckers down for a big red or cobia soon”, he concluded.
