ROUND 4 of the Squidgie Southern Bream Series was held in windy conditions on the Shoalhaven River yesterday, Sunday April 29.
With 86 teams fronting up to do battle on this notorious waterway, fishing was extremely tough for most.
In the kayak section 25 anglers braved the elements and headed out; with only six anglers weighing in fish all those that managed to land one walked away with cash and prizes.
The day belonged to Dave Hedge. A consistent angler who scored his maiden win in the SSBS, Dave took it out with a 2/3 1.215kg bag, which included a beautiful 0.895kg river bream securing him the Basin Lure and Fly Anglers Kayak Big Bream cash as well.
Second place was Luke Kay’s with the only full kayak bag, a 3/3 1.065kg. Third place and rounding out the podium for kayakers was Jason Reid with a 2/3 1.015kg bag.
