THE Clyde River at Batemans Bay on the NSW South Coast was the venue for Round 2 of the Squidgie Southern Bream Series where 56 boat teams and 20 kayakers competed. The Big 4 van park at Nelligen hosted the event, providing a scenic weigh-in location on the banks of the Clyde.
The event saw 50 new anglers compete in the 2011 SSB Series, bringing the total number of entrants to fish the first tworounds to 244.
Of the boaters, only seven teams weighed in a full five-fish bag. The heaviest of those was caught by Duffrods’ Nick Reay and Lucas Pratt with a 2.93kg bag.
Craig Coglan came out on top in the kayak field – where no anglers weighed in a full three-fish bag – but Craig’s two-bream bag of 0.65kg saw him finish in 1st position.
The DAMIKI Big Bream was caught by Tony Burke from team Out Of Bait with a nice Clyde river bream of 1.02kg. The team weighed the big bream in wearing their Evinrude hats to receive a bonus Evinrude jacket.
Big Bream winner Tony Bourke.
