AS a result of a groundswell of support for the Coffs Harbour Deep Sea Fishing Club, the local community is aiming to develop plans to save the club which was recently placed in voluntary administration.
The Coffs Harbour Deep Sea Fishing Club has long been a meeting hub for the region’s rec fishers and the staging venue for the annual Dave Irvine Memorial Snapper Classic.
Those interested in showing support for the club are urged to attend a public information meeting scheduled for:
Monday 18 May
6:00pm
The Fishing Club
Spokesperson for the group, Casandra Cameron said “this club means too much to this community to let it just fade away. We want to work with the administrators to achieve the best outcome for not only members and creditors, but for the whole community of Coffs Harbour”.
Mrs. Cameron went on to say, “Save the Fisho” is working with the administrators, the existing Board of Directors, members and interested people from the broader Coffs Harbour community to make this the start of a renewal that will not only honour the clubs history, but will also project the club into a new future that sees it provide even more to this community over the next 50 years.
Members are encouraged to attend to show their support and have input.
If you are unable to attend, show your support or share ideas by sending an email to savethefisho@gmail.com or via the Save the Fisho Facebook page.
