WHILE it’s been open to the public since late last year, this occasion marks the completion of all supporting infrastructure.
The project rehabilitated 190m of the jetty and rebuilt the remaining 572m, making it well-and-truly a long jetty!
It’s an important tourism asset for the area and provides economic benefits for local townships. Since February, over 20,000 people have visited the jetty!
This $11 million project was 10 years in the making and jointly-funded by State and Federal governments, South Gippsland Shire Council and the Victorian Fisheries Authority.
Thanks to the community for their endless support and Gippsland Ports for managing the project over the years!
