THE 2017 Gold Coast Flathead Classic is set to smash all records in its 24-year history, with over 650 competitors predicted to enter the event on September 27-29.
It’ll be thrilling daily competition, coupled with family fun evening festivities. You’ll feel a sense of addiction, with the excitement of the biggest catch drawing competitors in each evening, and the night’s enhanced with local celebrities, prize draws, and entertainment galore. In 2016 there were nearly 5000 flathead caught in some very challenging conditions.
Drawing anglers from all over Australia, the three-day competition offers everyone the chance at winning part of an estimated $250,000 in prizes.
Since the event’s launch, a number of big sponsors have jumped at the chance to be part of the event. Great Northern Brewing Co head the list as the official partner of the event. Surfcoast Marine is also returning, offering two Quintrex boat prizes worth over $30,000. Papatura Holidays has also stepped up again, pledging an incredible $7,500 island holiday package.
“We want everyone to walk away a winner,” said Danny Sands, Gold Coast Sport Fishing Club’s President.
“Andrew Ettingshausen will be fishing the event with Team Surf Coast Marine and are hoping for top position finish against some of the best anglers Australia has to offer.”
Daily prize giveaways will be awarded in each category, plus there will be lucky door prizes, a “Catch of the Day” prize and a points tally for male, female and junior competitors.”
Ticket prices include meals on each day of the event, our famous team bag filled with lures, line and apparel plus an event shirt: a total package worth over $800.
