EXPERIENCED fly fishers and novices alike who want to tune-up for the tail end of the trout season should get along to the Thredbo Fly Fishing Expo from 12-14 April.
The Expo features free tuition by a master casting instructor and a number of certified casting instructors, fly tying classes and a barbecue.

Friday, 12th April
7.30pm Head to the Thredbo Alpine Hotel Lounge Bar and meet your hosts, Craig Daly, Matt Howell and company.
Saturday, 13th April on the Village Green
9.30am – 11.30am Basics casting demonstration.
1.30pm – 3.30pm Distance casting presentation accuracy.

10.30am -11.30am Fly tying workshops – basics.
11.45am Tech talk on the tactics of trout fishing rigs, fly selection and steamcraft.
1.30pm Fly tying workshops – continued.
4pm – 5pm Networking function, join your hosts and exhibitors for a drink, and meet fellow fly fishing enthusiasts.
Sunday, 14th April on the Village Green
9.30am – 11.30am Switch and spey casting demonstration.
12.30pm Finish your weekend at the Thredbo Throw Casting Competition, followed by a BBQ and prize giving on the Thredbo Alpine Hotel Pub Bistro Balcony.
