WHAT do you get when you put a tackle store/record label owner and a graphic designer/musician/crazy fisherman together in a pub for a few hours? Possibly one of the coolest lure finishes to hit the market in a long time.
When Compleat Angler Melbourne/Off The Hip Records owner Chris Baty sat down over a few beers with Tim Haynes of Outcast Clothing and Pretty Green fame they hatched a simple plan to design some cooler than the norm lure colours and have them painted onto some of Australia’s most productive lures.
Armed with a handful of Tim’s designs Chris then approached Tim Carter of Halco (the maker of many iconic Australian lures) to discuss the possibility of getting some of these designs onto Halco lures as Limited Edition models.
The first of these has finally landed and takes the classic Halco Haymaker and pimps it up. The jet black skull pattern over hot pink was named the Skull Dragger. Limited to only 100 lures you’ll be torn between hanging it on the wall with the rest of your lure collection or throwing it down the throat of a monster kingfish, GT, yellowfin or southern bluefin.
