Time is running out for the NSW recreational fishing sector to apply for grants to improve fish habitat.
The 2009 Habitat Action Grants close on October 16.
Grants of up to $30,000 are available from revenue raised by the sale of NSW recreational fishing licences. This year $590,000 has been allocated for the Fish Habitat Action Program to encourage the community to undertake fish habitat rehabilitation projects.
Expressions of interest are sought from individuals, fishing clubs and organisations, community groups or local councils interested in rehabilitating fish habitats in freshwater and saltwater areas of NSW. Joint applications are also encouraged.
Note: preference is given to projects that are from, involve or are supported by recreational fishers.
