VICs to Have Say on Fisheries

REC anglers in Victoria get a chance to have their say about fisheries management issues via 12 roundtable forums held across the state in May and June.

For the 3rd year Fisheries Victoria has toured regional areas to update anglers on what’s happening with their fisheries.

Last year’s forums generated dozens of good ideas and Fisheries Victoria says it has taken many of these ideas on board and implemented them.

These include stocking larger numbers of freshwater fish or stocking more frequently, and planning to build more fishing reefs like those off Frankston, Seaford and Aspendale.

These meetings are a great way for anglers to suggest improvements for their sport. All fishers are encouraged to attend and contribute new project ideas that enhance fishing in Victoria.
