Weird Catch Comp

WHAT’S the weirdest catch you’ve ever made, or been a witness to?

While we’ve previously run a “weird lures” related comp on the Fisho site, a blog currently running on US fly fishing website moldychum.com, Brick of the Month, inspired us to get a similar thing up and running in the lead up to the silly season.

As seen in the accompanying pic, a gamefisher displays a hard fighting slab of tightly packed marijuana caught during a tournament. Apparently, the package weighed between 15-20lbs and was no doubt released unharmed (possibly after verifying substance authenticity).

So what weird and/or wonderful catches have you made? Email us a pic, some info on your catch and your address and contact details to comps@fishingworld.com.au and you’ll be in the running for a great mystery prize.

Let the weirdness begin…

16-year-old Brendan Moncrieff caught this handsome numb or coffin ray in Sydney’s Cowan Creek while casting for flatties in October this year.

Fisho’s Dean Butler sent in these pics of a pile of “GTs” encountered somewhere off Panama. This Central American version of the species apparently fought like bricks…

What's your reaction?
