FISHOS who own smartphones are sure to be interested in the new app What fish is this?

This app contains over 130 fish species and associated size and bag limits as supplied by each state of Australian fisheries. If you’re not sure what a species of fish you’ve caught is  the app’s dropdown boxes help identify it.

Included in the app is a “My Catches” log, where users can take a photo of theirr catch, add details such as, length, weight, bait, tides and so on. It also allows GPS locations to be saved so spots can be visited again; all entries are saved on a personal map screen which is indicated by pin markers that when tapped display the additional information.

What fish is this? also has a live weather tab, animated how-to-tie knots section, and a solunar calendar that calculates, the sun, tides, moon-phase to give anglers the major and minor fishing periods for each day.

Best of all, with the tap of one button, the app can be synchronised online so that current rules and regulations are uploaded.
