STRONG to gale force winds are expected to batter parts of the NSW coast today and continue over the weekend.
Rock fishers and boaters are warned that south-easterly swells are likely to increase over the weekend due to a low pressure system in the Tasman Sea. The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting rough conditions building during today with combined sea and swell heights of up to 6 metres on some parts of the coast over the weekend. Large swells are predicted to break dangerously close inshore.
Local conditions will vary considerably, so check conditions on your part of the coast by going to the Bureau’s coastal weather forecasts immediately before heading out.
