Fishos that have been using manual downriggers and looking to upgrade to models that make lifting and deploying lures or baits easier, should check out the 20DT/TS. In addition to a stylish white finish, rod holder, three digit line counter and line release clips, the Mag 20DT/TS features a monofilament-ready stainless steel spool pre-loaded with 400 feet of camouflaged 150-lb test 316-grade stainless steel cable.
Cannon says its Mag 20 boasts the fastest retrieval rate in the industry – 250-feet-per-minute. Add to this a heavy-duty stainless steel telescopic boom, IP68 waterproof power cable connectors, a ball storage hook to prevent boat damage from swinging weights and a saltwater-resistant construction you have quite a robust and impressive unit.
The Mag 20 sits on a low-profile swivel base that offers the user numerous angles to position the unit for easy deployment. With a simple up/down button and a variable speed control it is simply a case of selecting the speed of descent and holding the button down. Once your lure or bait is at the desired depth, simply release the button.
Lifting the downrigger ball is even easier. Lift the button up once and the unit automatically raises the downrigger ball. As soon as the weight lifts clear of the water the unit stops automatically. You are free to concentrate on fighting your fish without the added worry of the wire in the water or manually trying to raise the ball.
The Mag 20DT/TS is compatible with CannonLink Fishing System Module, (sold separately), a feature which allows the control of up to six Mag 20DTs downriggers (a feature found on 2002 and newer models) directly from select Humminbird fish finders. Mounted at the helm, you’ll see where the fish are and be able to make instant depth adjustments, track the bomb a set amount off the bottom or cycle between two depths without losing control of boat speed and steering.
The Mag20DT/TS has a weight capacity of 20lb and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
