Humminbird has launched its 800 series sounder/GPS. Incorporating two new models, the 858cx and the 898cx SI, Humminbird says the two units will fill the gap between the already popular 700 and 900 series. They also offer users all the innovative features of the equivalent 700 series but in a larger unit display.
The 858cx Combo features a brilliant colour, wide screen 480V x 800H 7” display, DualBeam PLUS sonar with up to 4000 watts* PTP power output, GPS chartplotting with built in UniMap and advanced Fishing System capabilities. The new units also feature the ability to fit 1KW Airmar transducers for greater deep water performance and an Ethernet port for future expandability.
The 898 cx SI comes with all the impressive features of the 858cx but adds side imaging and down imaging to its arsenal. Both units have dual integrated SD card slots. One slot gives you access to advanced cartography, leaving the other open to save screen snap shots, sonar and waypoint recordings
These new units offer variable backlighting and colour displays which help the user to read the display in any condition ranging from low light to bright sunshine, while other features like surface temperature, waterproofing and 50 channel GPS with speed come standard.
Recommended retail for the 858cx is around $1799 and $2,699 for the 898cx SI.
