ICOM, a world leader in marine communications, is proud to announce the release of the IC-M400BB VHF Marine Transceiver.
This unit features a versatile control microphone, allowing all operation from the handpiece. This means that the main unit can be installed out of sight, freeing up space on your vessel for other marine electronics and navigation equipment.
The IC-M400BB includes an intuitive user interface that has been designed for ease of use. The dot-matrix display shows multipurpose software key functions, which can be toggled and operated via a directional keypad. Even considering that the display of the IC-M400BB is located on the handset, it is still detailed enough to show position, channel and call alert information, among other data.
With the ocean, wind, engine and other factors contributing to noise level while on the water, it is important that radio transmissions are received loud and clear. The IC-M400BB features 10w loud audio and active noise cancelling technology, which reduces background noise by up to 90 percent. This works on both transmitted voice and incoming calls, allowing information to be received more clearly, which is very important in emergency situations.
As with all Icom radios, the IC-M400BB is built in Japan to strict quality standards. It features IPX7 water ingress protection on both the base and controller microphone, meaning it is waterproof to a one metre depth for 30 minutes. Like many other Icom marine radios, it features the unique AquaQuake draining system, which clears water out of the speaker grill, helping to ensure clear and crisp audio quality.
