Rough rock fishing conditions alert

THE combined effects of a low pressure system off the Queensland coast and a high pressure system near Tasmania are bringing strong winds, rain and rough seas to the NSW coast. Conditions on the north coast are expected to ease during Friday but worsen on the central and south coasts.

North of Sydney there will be seas of up to 4 metres plus swells of up to 5 metres, easing on Friday, but the same sea and swell conditions will then hit central and southern parts of coast on weekend. Large swells breaking close inshore will make rock fishing dangerous in some locations.

Check local conditions before planning a fishing trip by going to BOM district forecasts at http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/forecasts/map.shtml
