FISHING World’s NT correspondent Pete Zeroni is apparently as keen on boats as he is about fishing and photography.
Late last week Pete emailed some images to the Fisho office of a new 7.5m full-survey Custom Works Eliminator that has just hit the water. According to Pete, the boat has been built for the local Indigenous Ranger program based on Elcho Island which is located around 550km east-north-east of Darwin (just off the Arnhem Land coast).
As you can see in the images the big rig is running twin 150 Suzuki four-strokes. It also sports a roomy beam of 2.85m.
Pete reports that he took a brief ride in the big Eliminator and with a short run-up she got to 40 knots. “I haven’t been in very many twin-powered hulls so the instant acceleration and planing was pretty cool to experience,” he told Fisho.
For the record, the hull is an impressive 6mm thick and the sides and deck are both 4mm. Fuel capacity is around 500 litres.
