2019 Garmin Billfish Shootout wrap up

There were 166 boats and 759 anglers competing in this year’s Billfish Shootout.

THE Newcastle Port Stephens Game Fish Club’s 2019 Garmin Billfish Shootout was run and won on the weekend of February 16/17 and by all reports the tournament was a huge success. There were 166 boats and 759 anglers competing this year, and a total of 42 marlin tagged or captured. There were also 11 short-billed spearfish tagged.

A list of winners is provided below. Chris Jolly on board Zanziba came ever so close to winning the major prize of $100,000 but just fell short with his fish 214 kg, but this won him a healthy cheque of $12500, so heand his team were delighted.
