ONE lucky person will be driving home from the Easter Lake Burrendong Classic in a brand new Holden Captiva, courtesy of Dubbo’s Golden West Holden.
“It’s a pleasure for our business to come on board with this event, and help out a local group who are doing good things,” Dealer Principal Michael Adams told local media last week.
With Canobolas Caravan and Marine Centre Orange putting their hand up as the event’s major sponsor for the fourth year running, the competition prize pool is set to break the $50,000 mark with the Holden Captiva, holiday package and trailer boat and motor featuring as lucky door prizes.
All competitors wanting to enter the 2013 event will need a digital camera, or a good quality phone camera, and measuring mat to enter. Measuring mats will be available at the event on the weekend, with a new competition system allowing competitors to fish anywhere on the dam, without needing to find a marshal to enter their catch.
Entrants will need to take a photo of their fish on their measuring mat with their unique ID tag on top of the fish, which all entrants will receive at the briefing. Catch and release species are Murray cod, golden perch, silver perch and catfish. Marshals will be at the marquee all day every day to verify photos in the catch and release section.
The simple rule for catch and release photos will be if the marshal cannot read the measurements on the photo, the fish cannot be entered. In order to be eligible for consideration in the catch and release part of the competition, two photographs must be supplied.
