70 BUSINESSES including Fishing World magazine have contributed to this year’s Easter Lake Burrendong Classic fishing comp, resulting in the overall prize pool soaring to over $50,000.
All major prizes for the event are given away by lucky draw, with entrants not even having to catch a fish to have a chance at taking home a brand new car, trailer boat and motor package, or a host of other giveaways.
To shorten up the Easter Sunday presentation, the majority of prizes will be given away at the 5.00pm Friday briefing, and the half way briefing on Saturday at 6.30pm.
To enter a fish on the in the competition, entrants will need to take a photo of their native fish on their measuring mat with their unique ID tag on top of the fish, which all entrants will receive at the briefing.
Catch and release species are Murray cod, golden perch, silver perch and catfish. Marshals will be at the marquee every day to verify photos in the catch and release section. The simple rule for catch and release photos will be if the marshal cannot read the measurements on the photo, the fish cannot be entered. In order to be eligible for consideration in the catch and release part of the competition, two photographs must be supplied.
All carp and redfin will be counted, measured and disposed of at the main boat ramp at the end of each day’s fishing.
