THE hottest new tackle was assessed and judged at the 2014 AFTA Trade Show, held on the Gold Coast earlier this week.
Winners of the various tackle and gear categories were announced at a gala dinner on Monday night – scroll down for list of winners.
All the winning tackle, plus other new gear launched at the AFTA show, will be displayed at at a “fishing precinct” at the upcoming Brisbane Boat Show. This initiative, a joint venture between AFTA, Keep Australia Fishing and Marine Queensland, is expected include demonstrations and how-to presentations by fishing experts, displays and product info sessions from all the major tackle companies, prize draws, kids entertainment, free gear and a huge shop so visitors can purchase all the latest and greatest rods, reels, lures, lines and fishing accessories.
