ICONIC Queensland reel manufacturer Alvey Reels is celebrating its 100th year of operation.
Back in July 2017, the company announced on Facebook it would be shutting down at the end of October that year, a result of negative economic influences.
That post went viral and sparked an influx of orders from loyal Alvey customers, allowing the fishing business to stay open a little while longer to meet demand.
Fast forward two years and Alvey is now celebrating its centennial with a video of the brand’s journey and long history with Australian fishing.
Alvey has also received mainstream media attention reaching the 100 year milestone, with a segment on Channel Seven’s popular Sunrise morning show.
