AMANDA Bajada, wife of Fishing World writer and renowned game fisho Nathan Bajada, was recently nominated for recognition at the 2016 Central Coast Sports Awards for the Master Sports Person Of the Year by the Central Coast Game Fishing Club.
Nathan and Amanda attended the event on Friday 25th November at the Mingara Recreational Club in the company of many past and current sporting personalities as well as Olympians and world champions based on the Central Coast.
Amanda’s nomination was considered by the judging panel and she was named a finalist, with her category being won on the night by a multiple world champion holder, however Nathan said that it was a privilege just being present.
“We felt like fish out of water, however we were amazingly grateful to be representing fishing at these awards,” Nathan said.
“We have since been advised that in the 40 years of these awards being held this was the first time fishing had been a finalist which is a great achievement and milestone for our sport,” he said.
