Become a better fly caster

DON’T miss this opportunity to learn how to fly cast – or for the more experienced, learn a range of useful fish-catching casts and techniques – from International Federation of Fly Fishers Master Casting Instructor, Peter Morse.

Peter will also be joined by Sydney Flyfishing guide Justin Duggan (FFFCCI).

Dates for Sydney are 24-25 August at the Penrith Lakes International Regatta Centre.

The sessions teach the essentials of good fly casting and also cover how to cast further, dealing with wind, throwing bigger flies, presentation techniques, fish-fighting techniques and many other useful tips. You’ll also learn practice drills and meet other fly fishers from your area.

Saturday 24 August is best suited for new casters who want to learn properly from scratch, or for self-taught casters who’ve developed bad casting habits and are struggling to form effective loops.

Sunday 25 August is for more advanced casters and individuals wishing to learn new techniques and pick-up invaluable tips, depending on their level of skill.

The cost is $150 per person for the day, which runs from 8.30am to 4.30pm. You must pay a deposit to secure a place. For further details, contact Peter Morse at peter@wildfish.com.au.

Limited to 10 people per day. Gear supplied, if required, but it’s best to bring your own.
