THIS coming weekend sees the staging of the sixth and final round of the 2012 Berkley Evinrude Team Series, on beautiful Lake Macquarie on the NSW Central Coast.
This is the last chance for teams to score points and earn a BETS Grand Final invitation, and be one of 20 teams competing for a top prize of $20,000. That huge first prize is just part of a prize pool of over $40,000, so the competition is sure to be red hot! Competitors battle out the GF on Sydney Harbour, amongst the super yachts and busy backdrop of the 2012 Sydney International Boat Show.
With some teams sitting just off the pace the pressure is on – a single fish should see them qualify but how often have anglers needed just that one fish to complete their story? Equally with such teams threatening, anglers already placed in the top 20 will need to secure their position from the marauders below!
Held at the Wangi Point Lakeside Holiday Park, the Lake Macquarie round always draws an enthusiastic crowd and this year there is a very special opportunity for anglers and spectators alike. Purchase a hot sandwich from the Wangi Lions Club sausage sizzle and you’ll go into the draw for one of 10 family passes to the 2012 Sydney International Boat Show, courtesy of the Boating Industry of Australia. Winners will be drawn on the day, after the event weigh-in is completed. Come and see the boats return at 2pm, watch the final weigh-in and have a chance at one of the 10 family passes.
