A NEW fishing competition has launched in Rockhampton, Queensland, with a cash prize of $10,000 up for grabs.
Anglers of all ages and skills are invited to take part in Fishing the Fitzroy’s $10K Thready Competition and try their hand at catching one of the tagged king threadfin salmon in the Fitzroy River.
Open to locals and visitors to the Rockhampton region, the $10,000 cash prize will be awarded to the first angler lucky enough to catch one of the tagged king threadfin.
Whether the lucky angler catches the tagged fish in their own boat, on a fishing charter or from one of the many land-based fishing platforms in the region, they will still be eligible to win. All they must do is register on the competition website prior to fishing.
The competition is now open and closes at midnight on 31 January, 2021.
