This coming June long weekend sees the return of the successful Dave Irvine Memorial Snapper Classic at Coffs Harbour, NSW.
The Snapper Classic has been running since 2007 in memory of gun local fisho and inventor of the Environet and Brag Mat, Dave Irvine.
The tournament is a catch, photograph and release competition. It’s also a cast and retrieve, soft plastic lures only, snapper fishing comp. All snapper are brought on board in a knotless Environet style net, and then photographed on a Brag Mat where they are also measured for scoring then released to fight another day.
Fishos fight it out for prestigious trophies and all prizes are randomly drawn so everybody is in for a chance at the $20,000 in prizes up for grabs.
The tournament is hosted by the Coffs Harbour Deep Sea Fishing Club. There will also be plenty of other activities for spectators and competitors.
