Embling’s Adventures #1 – LBG

I WAS pleasantly surprised with the quality and content of this production. A spate of home-made LBG DVDs that have been released in recent times have featured repetitive, mundane footage of live baiting the NSW north coast for longtail tuna – material that just doesn’t work on camera. This DVD features a wide variety of interesting locations and target species including land-based wahoo and dolphin fish captures, and some great footage with packs of big New Zealand yellowtail kingfish attacking live salmon.

The producers freely admit in the commentary that this footage wasn’t originally taken with professional release in mind, however I found the production quality to be quite good compared to other fishing DVDs currently available. The commentary is excellent and full of interesting insights into the target species being shown. I’d recommend this DVD to any LBG devotee as it really does provide an insight into what is required to be a successful angler in this specialised area of fishing. Paul Embling has travelled all over Australia, New Zealand and as far afield as Panama to land the great fish featured on this DVD and really demonstrates what it takes to be a successful LBG angler these days.

The DVD should be available in your local tackle shop or contact paul.embling@gmail.com for details on how to get a copy.
