RAIN, wind and more rain greeted 94 teams competing in the third round of the 2011 Squidgie Southern Bream Series on Sunday, 27th March on Sydney’s Port Hacking.
Fishing was tough by all accounts – as evidenced in the kayak section of the round with only six of the 15 anglers weighing in fish. Luke Kay finished in top spot with a healthy 2.21kg 3/3 bag. Second place went to the in form Andrew Death with another full bag weighing 1.525kg and Stewart Dunn again finished in the money with a 1.475kg 3/3 bag.

In the boating section 79 teams competed, with 52 teams weighing in bream; 16 teams weighed in a full 5/5 bag but the day belonged to Team Evinrude/Daiwa (Richard Potter and Louise Shepherd). Richard and Louise took home $3100 for their 3.050kg bag – they also picked up a $250 Damiki Prize Pack and an Evinrude waterproof jacket with a nice 1.09kg specimen that secured them Big Bream for the day.
