Berejiklian hints at backflip on marine park

ACCORDING to a report on Channel 9, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has hinted that her Government will dump plans for a Sydney Marine Park at the end of the consultation period later this month. You see the report in the video above.

The predicted backflip was also reported in an article in The Australian.

“NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian is expected to dump the centrepiece of the Coalition’s marine parks policy in a major backflip as she seeks to restore her government’s electoral fortunes after the Wagga Wagga by-election rout.

Ms Berejilkian is expected to end fishing lockout zones that make up the government’s marine parks policy after a consultation period ends in a fortnight.”

Meanwhile, commenters on the Stop The Lockout Facebook page have urged fellow anglers to maintain the momentum and keep the pressure on the Government over the proposal that would see recreational anglers locked out of many popular anglings spots around Sydney.
