A SERIES of information sessions on the proposed federal marine parks for the east coast are currently being held in NSW as part of a three-month public consultation process.
Relevant industry sector representatives and local organisations have been invited to attend the sessions, as is anyone with an interest in Commonwealth marine bioregional planning. The sessions relate to the Temperate East Marine Region located in Commonwealth waters (ie. usually 3 nautical miles from the coast) and extend to the outer limits of Australia’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) some 200 nautical miles from shore. See Coral Sea map here.
