Fish the subway

DUO International says it took two years of research and development to achieve the sub-surface swimming action of the Aomasa 188.

This hot new lure was aimed primarily at the kingfish market in Japan, which obviously makes it ideal for use in Australia also.

Letting the lure rest on the surface then sweeping the rod back, results in an “S-curve” action just below the surface. Follow it up with a pause which causes the Aomasa to kick out to the side before resting vertically on the surface, and look out!

The makers say test samples of the lure used in Australia has resulted in success on GTs, sailfish, cobia, southern bluefin and yellowfin tuna as well as big kings in South Australia.

Measuring 188mm and weighing 69g unrigged, the Aomasa 188 reportedly casts like a bullet and looks to be one of the must-have lures this coming season.
