Fishing groups respond to bag limit proposals

THE NSW Department of Primary Industries is currently requesting public feedback on proposed changes to recreational fishing bag limits and regulations in the state. Read more details HERE.

The DPI’s proposals have thus far been widely criticised by anglers due to a perceived lack of science to justify reduced bag limits on some species, and the absence of called for changes for species such as mulloway. See related story HERE.

Rec fishing organisation, the Richmond Valley Anglers Action Group, is concerned about many of the proposed changes and has made a formal submission to the NSW DPI outlining these problem areas. The RVAAG forwarded its submission to Fisho and has also circulated it to other fishing clubs and organisations.

The closing date for submissions on the DPI’s proposals is July 31.
