FISHING World has cemented its position as the leading fishing media brand following the release of the latest magazine circulation figures.
The independent Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) results for the July to December 2012 period show Fisho dominates the fishing magazine market with an average paid monthly circulation of 14,472.
“I’d like to thank all our loyal readers and advertisers for their support as we enter our 44th year of publication,” Fishing World publisher Jim Harnwell said.
Results for other audited fishing magazines are:
Trailer Boat – 9015
Freshwater Fishing – 11,257
Sport Fishing – 7369
Modern Fishing – 13,306.
Harnwell said Fishing World would continue its focus on producing a quality monthly magazine while also developing its online and digital products.
“As well as being No.1 in magazine circulation, we’re reaching 50,000 people a month via www.fishingworld.com.au and our e-newsletters, we’ve got millions of online views on our Fisho TV channel, our iPad edition is growing fast and we’re very active via social media,” Harnwell said.
“I think our founder Ron Calcutt would be interested to see how the little B&W magazine he first published back in 1969 has evolved.
“Ron’s vision back then was to produce a magazine made by fishermen for fishermen.
“That hasn’t changed one iota. It’s just that nowadays our readers can buy or subscribe to the print mag, download a digital version on their iPads, read our website, follow us on Twitter, Instragram or Facebook, get our e-newsletters or watch our online videos.”
