IN 2027 the Commonwealth Fly Fishing Championships are coming to Victoria.
Hosted by Fly Fish Australia, the national organisation for competitive fly fishers, the Championships will be held at Falls Creek bringing hundreds of internationals and local fly fishers to fish the Kiewa River, Mitta Mitta River, Ovens River and Rocky Valley Reservoir.
The initiative should be a winner for Victoria, injecting tourism visitation spend into regional Victoria around Mt Beauty, selling fishing licences and showcasing Victoria’s high country wild trout fisheries and beautiful environments.
