MELANIE Nast Young has given to tens of thousands of people, as part of Young Guns Fishing Adventures, with the Professional Guides Association, as a Champion caster and as an advocate for recreational fishing.
Sadly, Melanie is dying. The best case scenario is that she gets a heart/lung transplant very soon, but the rare genetic condition that’s been ticking away below her dystonia, is shutting down her organs and making this rescue surgery more unlikely by the day…
And recent events have conspired to make the situation even more difficult for this young mother of 4. Her father passed a matter of months ago, and her business partner and cherished companion and father of children, Todd Young passed away only a few weeks ago.
Mel’s youngest is only 7 years old and has seen way too much for someone so young. And Mel would like to have some special times with her kids before the cruel hereditary disease cuts things short.
Mel has been generous of her time and knowledge, even while battling severe dystonia that would disable most people.
A few of her friends are setting up this page to give Mel a few resources to be able to do a few special things while she still can without depleting her meagre financial resources, so that there is something left after she passes.
