Harbour turns on quality bream for SSBS

IT was a glorious day for the 110 teams that lined up at Sydney Harbour last weekend for the sixth round of the 2012 Squidgie Southern Bream Series.

Of the 27 kayak teams to fish this round Hobie Fishing’s Stewart Dunn emerged victorious with his 3/3 1.725kg bag. Second place went to Shane Taylor with a 3/3 1.35kg bag and rounding out the top three was team Shorty’s Andrew Hancox with another 3/3 1.335kg bag.

The Basin Lure and Fly Angler’s Big Bream for kayaks was a respectable Sydney Harbour 0.895kg bream caught by Damiki/Pontoon 21/Wizardry Signs Jason Lambert (below).

83 boating teams left from Bayview Park with Josh Batterson and Matt Webb of team Skeeter Boats/www.bassboatshop.com.au securing the first place cheque of $3100 and two Mako Eyewear packs with a nice 5/5 3.96kg bag.

Second place on the podium was claimed by Out of Bait’s Tony Bourke and Ross Bourke (below) with a 5/5 3.78kg bag.

A 5/5 3.515 bag secured Shane De La Mare and Simon Moore from team Primed third place for this round. The Damiki Big Bream for Boating was a magnificent bream caught by team Agro Dog that tipped the scales at 1.28kg (below).
