AFTER 20 years and more than 240 editions, Fishing World editor and publisher, Jim Harnwell, has left to take up a position in the fisheries management sector.

The January 2016 edition will be Harnwell’s final edition.

“My first edition was the January 1996 issue so it all wraps up quite nicely,” said Harnwell.

Fishing Worlds Scott Thomas has been appointed editor, while Fisho’s Chris Yu moves into the position of publisher.

“Both Scott and Chris will doubtless be able to continue the legacy established by Fisho founder Ron Calcutt while also adding their own ideas and initiatives,” said Harnwell.

Fishing World has also appointed a full time journalist and web editor, Jereme Lane, who brings to the role a strong background in fishing and journalism.

Fishing World editor Scott Thomas said Harnwell’s professional approach to publishing has left the brand in great shape.

“With a fresh team and rapidly changing fishing media, we’re presented with a tremendous opportunity to continue and improve on what is already Australia’s leading sportfishing media brand,” said Thomas.
