THE world’s largest sportfishing trade show, ICAST, has been held this week in the US at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
According to Sportfishing magazine this year’s New Product Showcase highlighting innovative sport fishing products, accessories and apparel via the “Best of Show” awards, received more than 700 items entered by nearly 200 companies.
This year, the JL Marine Systems’ Power-Pole Micro Anchor was voted by buyers and media as the best product in both the Boating Accessory category and the overall “Best of Show.”
“The quality and ingenuity of the new products that are unveiled at the New Product Showcase continue to amaze me,” said Mike Nussman, American Sportfishing Association’s president and CEO.
The ICAST 2013 Best of Show awards were presented on Wednesday, July 10, during the Chairman’s Industry Awards Reception.
Three lures in one – The Best of Show Hard Lure at ICAST 2013 was the innovative Livetarget Baitball from Koppers Fishing & Tackle Corporation.
Australia’s version of ICAST – the Australian Fishing Trade Associations’ (AFTA) annual fishing and outdoor show – is being held on the Gold Coast in late August. This event gives local tackle retailers and the fishing media the chance to see the latest fishing tackle and related products that will hit the Australian market later in the year.
