FOLLOWING a public meeting at Berrridale on Sunday 15 May, NSW Marine Rescue has confirmed it will be deploying a rescue boat to Lake Eucumbene in the Snowy Mountains, NSW.
An 8.2 metre boat has been fully fitted out and is currently in Sydney awaiting delivery.
NSW Marine Rescue is expected to be training people from the local area in all aspects of boat handling, rescue, maintenance, radio protocols, as well as supply uniforms.
It is also expected that a similar arrangement is planned for Lake Jindabyne in the near future when sufficient funds for another rescue craft become available.
Both areas will be administered from a small headquarters at Berridale.
