A COUPLE of Western Australian anglers scored this very impressive catch while fishing 10km offshore from Bunbury in the state’s south-west this month.
The pictured snapper caught by Jesse Ghasseb was supplied to Fisho by John Curtis, state recorder for the Australian Anglers Association (WA branch).
The huge red measured 114.7cm in length, weighed 16.1kg and is now the subject of a pending state record claim.
The current national snapper record is 18.4kg for a fish caught at Outer Harbour Port Adelaide, South Australia in November 1994.
