National survey into shark depredation

A NATIONAL survey into the growing problem of shark depredation in Australia is now online and fishos are being encouraged to participate in the important research

This survey is part of the project: Reviewing solutions to reduce unwanted fisher interactions with elasmobranchs

Shark depredation refers to where sharks remove fish caught on fishing gear. The information you provide will help inform efforts to reduce the impacts of shark depredation. The research is conducted by the Edith Cowan University Survey Research Centre on behalf of the Queensland Department of Primary Industries.

Participation is voluntary, and the survey could take up to 10 minutes of your time. If you decide to do the survey, your answers will be kept strictly confidential.

Data are collected for research purposes only and retained for a period of two years after completion of the project. Data collected will not be used for other purposes.
