THE Saltist Demon Blood range has become one of Daiwa’s most popular saltwater offshore rods. In 2013 Daiwa updated the series with all new cosmetics, components, new blank designs and even better carbon. By using the latest graphites and specialised composites, the new Saltist Demon Blood rods open up a whole new world of offshore fishing possibilities.
Daiwa says at the heart of the Demon Blood series is an ultra advanced range of carbon and composites that with the correct designs and construction techniques have created some of the manufacturer’s best blanks to date. Depending on the models each rod uses different blends to create the best possible action.
The powerful 72MH, 762XH, 82XH and 962H casting rods use Daiwa’s famous Bias Wrap Construction for an ultra strong, fine diameter blank that resists twisting, improves casting distance and has greater hook setting power, making them ideal for popper, stickbait and jerkbait techniques.
The 64CJ, 56-6/8B, 56-3/5 and 56-6/8 jig rods use a blend of SSG carbon and Glatech (glatech is a highly advanced fibre glass), by combining these two materials the blank becomes ultra tough, able to bend to extreme angles, yet produces incredible power for deep dwelling fish.
These models also feature ultra tough Fuji reel seats with locking rings, Fuji graphite gimbals and ultra tough full-length EVA grips for greater angler comfort.
The new overhead models feature ultra slim and power Bias Wrap Construction and SSG carbon to produce blanks that are ultra thin and extremely powerful, making them outstanding for fast jigging techniques with smaller jigs, pirate jigs, etc. Ideally suited for the smaller sized (20 – 35 sizes) overhead reels like Saltiga LD, Saltist BG and Saltist LD.
The new three piece models are ideal for the travelling angler, with three models available, a jig, sports spinning and a popper rod.
