SANCTUARY Cove Marina is gearing up to host a firefighter family day out on the water on Sunday 15 March 2020.

An initiative created by Neil Driscoll of ‘Above and Beyond Boating’, this provides an opportunity for the boating community to give a bit back to the volunteer men and women who have sacrificed their summer and precious time with family to battle the blazes that have ravaged across the country.

Driscoll said hundreds of boat owners in several States were partaking in the event which will take RFS volunteers out on the water for a fun day with their families. “We are thrilled that Sanctuary Cove Marina have joined forces with us for this worthwhile cause, it’s a small token of support for the volunteers who have been on duty throughout this devastating bushfire season” Driscoll said.

Sanctuary Cove Marina General Manager Steve Sammes said “The whole Sanctuary Cove Marina community, from our vessel owners to the Boat Brokers and Marine Village tenants, are really eager to get behind this cause and hopefully make a small difference to the lives of these amazing Firefighters and their families”.

The fun-filled day will commence at Sanctuary Cove Marina where families will be welcomed by hosts and skippers for a pre cruise breakfast BBQ and then taken on board vessels at 10am for a fantastic relaxing day out and about on the beautiful pristine Gold Coast Waterways.
